Since it was founded in 1964 by Mr. Ling Yu-chia, the Taiwan Glass Group has transformed itself into a world-class glass manufacturing giant through its global outlook, attention to its area of expertise, its solid business strategy, and sound financial foundation. The Taiwan Glass Group established the Taiwan Glass China Holding Ltd. in 1993 in order to increase its scale of production and boost its domestic and foreign competitiveness, and began expanding its role in the Chinese market through a series of plant development projects in China.   In order to strengthen economic cooperation across the Taiwan Strait and support the Chinese government's development plan for the western part of the country, the Taiwan Glass Group decided in 2002 to establish the subsidiary TG Chengdu Glass Co., Ltd. in Chengdu's Qingbai River Industrial Area. Thanks to government support, good infrastructure, and a favorable environment, TG Chengdu Glass has grown steadily over the last six years; it currently has investment of US$195,280,000, occupies 46 ha, and has 1,300 employees.   After the global financial crisis began in 2008, TG Chengdu Glass relied on its sound finances to continue to install a superior float glass production line with a daily melt capacity of 900 tons and a high-end low-E gloss production line with an annual capacity of 8 million m2. The plant has now began mass production on both lines. These two production lines have established TG Chengdu Glass as the largest float glass production facility in southwestern China.   In the future, TG Chengdu Glass will continue to increase production, and offer highly competitive customized products with superior quality, reasonable prices, and excellent accompanying service.
