Since the establishment of Taiwan Glass Ind. Corp. in 1964, Hsinchu Factory and Taichung Factory were set up successively to produce glass containers, glass tableware, float glass, and etc. Subsequently, Taiwan Glass Ind. Corp. stepped into FRP Glass Fiber and Glass Fabric industries to meet the changes of global glass demand, and entered into technical cooperation on FRP Glass Fiber with USA Owens Corning Fiberglass Corp. in 1987 and technical cooperation on Glass Fabric with Japanese KANEBO in 1988. After more than 2 years of preparation, Taoyuan Factory began production in Feb. 1990.

In the initial production stage of Taoyuan Factory, 12,000MT/year of FRP Fiber Glass and 6,000MT/year of Glass Fabric were produced with 2 furnaces. Due to stable product quality and short supply, factory expansion was completed in 2001, and the total capacity reached 78,000MT/year, ranking No. 1 and No. 2 in FRP Glass Fiber and Glass Fabric industries. To increase competitiveness and lower our unit cost, FRP furnace, TT-1, will be further expanded in 2009 to 60,000MT/month, and is expected to begin production in Q4, 2010.

Taoyuan Factory of about 18.1 hectares is located in Kuanyin Ind. Dist. of Taoyuan County with convenient transportation, approximately 30 minutes by car from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. The products can be classified into 6 categories: Chopped Strands, Direct Roving, Conventional Roving, Woven Roving, Chopped Strand Mat and Glass Fabric.
