Founded in 1964, the Taiwan Glass Group's core company is the Taiwan Glass Co., Ltd., which was listed on Taiwan's stock market in 1973. The Taiwan Glass Group established Taiwan Glass China Holding Ltd. in 1993 in order to expand production and boost its domestic and foreign competitiveness, and began expanding its role in the Chinese market through a series of plant development projects in China. Among these, the subsidiary TG Tianjin Glass Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary founded in the city of Tianjin in August 2004.   TG Tianjin Glass was the eighth independent subsidiary established by the Taiwan Glass Group in China. It is located in the Tianyu Technology Park in Jinghai County, Tianjin. It occupies 30 ha, and has a main plant building occupying 69,000 m2. Registered capital is US$30 million, and total investment was US$79,850,000. TG Tianjin Glass's first production line – a high-end float glass line with a daily capacity of 650 tons – went into production on August 20, 2006. This line provides China and other countries with world-class float glass products.   TG Tianjin Glass's production line employs the world's most advanced float glass production technology, which was acquired from the British company Pilkington. The plant's main product consists of high-end transparent float glass. Annual production capacity is 200,000 tons, and annual sales are roughly ¥300 million renminbi. The glass thickness is 3-15mm, and maximum sheet size is 3300 x 5000mm. The plant's products are chiefly used to make high-end processed glass through coating, mirror coating, tempering, and auto glass processing. Due to high product quality, large amounts of glass are exported to eager foreign buyers.   Looking ahead to the future, TG Tianjin Glass will continue to develop new types of glass manufacturing technology, focus on the R&D and production of high-quality glass, and respond to global aesthetic trends. It will also employ advanced management concepts, absorb highly-competitive aesthetic designs from around the world, and offer highly competitive customized products with superior quality, reasonable prices, and excellent accompanying service.
