Chairman Lin Por-Fong Conferred with The Order of the Rising Sun by the Japanese Government
On November 3 rd , Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association announced the foreign recipients of Fall 2019 Imperial Decorations. Chairman Lin Por-Fong, also the chairman of Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce (CNAIC), has been bestowed the Order of the Rising Sun by the Japanese government at the Imperial Palace on November 7 th in recognition of his long-term dedication to the promotion of exchanges between Japan and Taiwan’s economy and trade. Bestowed with Japan’s highest decoration for foreign business leaders, Lin Por-Fong is the first Taiwanese business leader to receive such an honor in Japan’s new imperial era, Reiwa.
Taiwan Glass Group (TG) has kept long-term business relationships with Japanese partners since 1965, the year that TG signed a technical cooperation agreement with ASAHI on flat glass. In 1988, TG signed a technical cooperation agreement with KANEBO on fiberglass fabric and established a joint venture auto glass factory with Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd. (NSG). With the basis for cooperation having been established between Taiwanese-Japanese enterprises and local governments, TG will continue its contributions to strengthening trade and business relations as well as cooperation with Japan to mark a fresh turning point in international trade and economic development of Taiwan and Japan.
