The project is designed to be a new landmark in Taipei, using “crystal” to symbolically represent the city’s status and position as the design concept. The building is a jewel which is inlayed in Taipei City, composed by strings of radiant gold and silver crystals.
Crystal Cube
The exterior walls on both sides of the V shaped building mainly face the road accesses and park plaza. The design intention is to create crystal walls composed of golden cube curtain wall units. While the glass cubes construct the splendid building exterior, the three-dimensional appearance and regularity created by light and shadow effect also bring us a steady visual effect.
Crystal Ridge
The façade of this V shape building faces Chung Xiao East Road, with an open spacious plaza in front. The designers’ idea is to create a silver, crystal glass tube, using vertically ridged curtain walls with alternating recesses on a triangular plan to construct the interchanging combination. The ridge lines are lit by the sunlight in the day time, and lighting effect at night show the verticality and sublimity crossing upwards layer by layer, ensuring that the building will be undoubtedly recognized as the new landmark on Chung Xiao East Road.
